With the exception of two sets of French doors, all of the interior doors in my house are like this basic builder grade style. I can’t complain about their functionality, but I am bored with the look of them. I have a hard time justifying a purchase of new doors all around the house just because I want a different look, so I’ve decided to do it slowly and budget permitting.
The first space where I plan to swap my hollow core builder grade doors for something different is in my home office. I figure since I stare at those closet doors everyday in the space where I work, create, and gather inspiration, it’s worth the upgrade, so I’ll be buying a pair of doors like these but adding molding to the center make them more interesting. It inspired today’s post with a focus on beautiful paneled cabinet, entry, and interior doors. Some great ideas below!
The addition of diagonal molding inside the frame dresses up this media cabinet.
Raised double diamond molding on the doors of these cabinets enhances their traditional panels.
Raised paneled squares and dark paint lets this entry door make a beautiful first impression.
Raised pyramid squares make this entry door a stunner.
Black interior doors look so sophisticated especially with white walls, and the round raised detail elevates the look of these elongated interior doors.
This is a beautiful stained entry door, the repeating slats have a modern vibe.
The painted paneling on these walls disguise a hidden door. Notice the ceiling too, that flat square pattern would look just as cool on a pair of doors.

I’ve always loved this creative idea using ceiling medallions to upgrade plain closet doors.
These bifolds are basic no more with the addition of square paneling coated in pale gray paint. Lovely!
I’m inspired to begin my own closet door makeover with these ideas in mind!
